If you're an Ubuntu MATE user the icon will be placed within an Other category instead of the Sound & Video. You can use the Main Menu feature within the Control Center to drag the Violin icon from Other to Sound & Video. (If you don't see an icon, then reboot your system.)
When you open the program for the first time you will see a simple program on your screen.
You can click the "Open Folder" button in the middle at the top to allow you to add music to your new player. When the dialog box opens, select a folder that contains your music. Then click on an album and click the OK button.
Your song or songs will load into the player. You will notice a progress bar at the bottom in the center along with the song being played. You will see a small cover art image, mix songs button, back button, play/pause button, next button, and repeat song button. In the bottom right corner is a speaker icon and a volume control. You can move the slider to the right on the volume control to increase the volume and move it left to decrease the volume.
In the upper left you'll see an icon of the program and Configuration menu that will allow you to change the color of the title bar. In the upper right you have a search box to allow you to search for a particular song.
This is a very basic audio or music player. It doesn't have a lot of features and it can't be customized., but it does what it's supposed to do.
This application is built with Electron, so it may not be popular with a lot of people. However, it is open source and it is a cross-platform application that looks and works great.
