GNOME Calculator
GNOME Calculator is an application that solves mathematical equations and is suitable as a default application in a Desktop environment.
GNOME Calculator is:
- A tool for calculating mathematical equations
- Uses standard mathematical notation where possible (so users do not have to learn the application when they already know maths)
- Easy enough to use for simple maths (add, subtract, multiply, divide)

How to Install GNOME Calculator:
1. Open the Terminal (Shortcut: Ctrl + Alt + T)
2. Type the following command: sudo apt-get update
3. Press Enter or Return and type in your password
4. Type the following command: sudo apt install gnome-calculator
5. Type Y and press Enter or Return
You can also install it via Flatpak and Snap.

How to Remove GNOME Calculator:

3. Press Enter or Return and type in your password

You will find GNOME Calculator in your Accessories menu as Calculator.
You can always use Mozo (MATE Menu Editor) or Alacarte to manually add the calculator to any menu of your choice.

Command: gnome-calculator
Comment: Perform arithmetic, scientific or financial calculations
Next, click the square icon on the left and locate an icon for the program. Then click the OK button when you finish in the Create Launcher dialog box to close it. You can then click on the Move Up or Move Down button in the Main Menu dialog box to move the icon and program in alphabetical order. Then click the Close button to exit the Main Menu dialog box.

Command: gnome-calculator
Comment: Perform arithmetic, scientific or financial calculations
Next, click the square icon on the left and locate an icon for the program. Then click the OK button when you finish in the Create Launcher dialog box to close it. You can then click on the Move Up or Move Down button in the Main Menu dialog box to move the icon and program in alphabetical order. Then click the Close button to exit the Main Menu dialog box.
You should now see the icon for the new calculator in the Education menu or menu that you selected.
The first time you run GNOME Calculator it will be in the Basic Mode.
However, you can click the drop-down arrow and change to Advanced Mode, Financial Mode, Programming Mode, or Keyboard Mode.

Views
- Basic – interface for basic arithmetic, resembling a desk calculator.
- Advanced – an interface with scientific functions, and support for custom variables.
- Financial – financial calculation and currency conversion.
- Programming – a view with bit manipulation operators and radix conversion.
- Keyboard – most of the space is taken up by the output, with no on-screen buttons. Supports currency and unit conversion.
GNOME Calculator allows you to use multiple calculators at the same time. Click on the three dots and then on New Window.
You will now see two calculators on your screen.
