How to Cut or Split Videos with Avidemux
If you have a video and you would like to remove the beginning or ending then Avidemux is tool for the job. This program will allow you to cut out a section of your video and save it as an individual video file.
1. Open Avidemux.
1. Open Avidemux.
2. Click on the File menu and then click the Open... command.
3. When the Select Video File... dialog box appears, select the first video file and then click the Open button.
4. Use your mouse pointer and drag the slider to the location you want to start your video.
5. Then click on the letter A icon or Set start marker button to select the starting point for your video or press the shortcut keys

6. Next, use your mouse pointer and drag the slider to the location you want to use as your end point.
7. Then click on the letter B icon or Set end marker button to select the ending point for your video or press the shortcut keys

8. Make sure that your Output Format is set to the format that your prefer. I changed it from Mkv Muxer to MP4 Muxer. Now you are
ready to click on the File menu and then on the Save command.

9. A Select File to Save dialog box will appear allowing you to name your new video file. Click the Save button to save your new video file.
10. A confirmation dialog box will appear to let you know that your video file was successfully saved.
You are now ready to play your new video file.
Notice the video is only 4 minutes and 30 seconds in length compared to the original video file length of 14 minutes and 48 seconds.
