Avidemux
Avidemux is a video editor used for simple cutting, filtering and encoding tasks. It supports a variety of file types, including AVI, DVD compatible MPEG files, MP4 and ASF, using a variety of codecs. It allows you to automate tasks using projects, you can add things into a job queue, and it has powerful scripting capabilities.
Avidemux is available for Linux, Mac, and MS Windows operating systems. I will demonstrate how to install it on Linux (Ubuntu MATE 20.04 LTS).
How to Install Avidemux 2.8
1. Open the Terminal (Shortcut: Ctrl + Alt + T)
2. Type the following command to add the PPA: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xtradeb/apps
3. Press Enter or Return and type in your password
4. Press Enter or Return
5. Type the following command: sudo apt update
6. Type the following command: sudo apt install avidemux-qt avidemux-jobs-qt
7. Type Y and press Enter or Return

2. Type the following command to add the PPA: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xtradeb/apps
3. Press Enter or Return and type in your password
4. Press Enter or Return
5. Type the following command: sudo apt update
6. Type the following command: sudo apt install avidemux-qt avidemux-jobs-qt
7. Type Y and press Enter or Return
How to Remove Avidemux 2.8
1. Open the Terminal (Shortcut: Ctrl + Alt + T)
2. Type the following command: sudo apt remove --autoremove avidemux-qt avidemux-jobs-qt
3. Type the following command: sudo add-apt-repository -r ppa:xtradeb/apps -y
1. Open the Terminal (Shortcut: Ctrl + Alt + T)
2. Type the following command: sudo apt remove --autoremove avidemux-qt avidemux-jobs-qt
3. Type the following command: sudo add-apt-repository -r ppa:xtradeb/apps -y
Once you get it installed, you'll be able edit, convert, or merge your videos.
