Warpinator
"Warpinator allows you to easily connect multiple computers on a local area network and share files quickly and securely."
How to Install Warpinator:
Linux users can install Warpinator a variety of methods. I will demonstrate installing it via the Software Center. Open the Software Center on your Linux system. Then click on the magnifying glass icon or search button in the upper left.

Next, search for Warpinator and then click on it when it appears.
Next, click the Install button to start the installation process.
You will see a progress bar grow as the program installs.
Wait until you see the Launch and Remove buttons before you close the Software Center. You can start the program by clicking on the Launch button.
You should find it located in your Accessories menu. Clicking on Warpinator will start the program.
Don't panic the first time you open the program. You'll probably see the message, "No other computers found..." Click the three vertical dots in the upper left corner and click on Preferences to open the Preferences dialog box.
The General tab will be shown first. You can customize these settings to meet your needs.
Next, click the Connection button or tab. The Group Code has to be the same name on every system connected to your home network. I recommend that you leave it set to Warpinator.
If you use Gufw Firewall then open your Terminal and enter the following:
sudo ufw allow 42000
sudo ufw allow 42001
sudo ufw allow 42000
sudo ufw allow 42001
Since I have ports 40818 and 40816 opened in my firewall, I entered 40818 for my Incoming port for transfers and 40816 to Incoming port for registration. Then I clicked the Apply network changes button. You may have to reboot your system at this point.
If you don't see other devices connected to your Home Network you may need to change Network interface to use from Automatic to something different.
The other device or devices should appear in the main Warpinator window. My linuxlite system within my virtual machine shows up. Click on the name of the device you want to send a file or folder to. I clicked on linuxlite.
Next, click the Send files button to create a drop-down box. Then click the Browse... button and locate a file or folder you want to send.
I selected an image file that was created by VLC and then I clicked the Add button.
Then I waited for approval to the other computer connect to my Home Network.
The person on the other system must click the check button in order to receive the file of folder.
When the other system receives the file the message Waiting for your approval will change to Completed.
You can see the other computer received the file within the Warpinator folder.
When the other system (in my case the linuxlite system) sends you a file or files or folders you must click the check box to accept the request.
The message will change from Waiting for your approval to Completed.
For more information on Warpinator please check out their GitHub webpage. The AddictiveTips article by Derrik Diener shows multiple ways to install the program on Linux systems.
I think it's a great program for sending and receiving files or folders across your Home Network.
