CD & DVD Labels
gLabels is great for printing CD & DVD labels. When I installed Ubuntu MATE on friends and family computers, I would create them a DVD and label it using gLabels. I also used gLabels when I created labels for the 5th grade graduation ceremony, when I taught 5th grade science at one of the local elemtary schools. It can be used to create wedding labels, music CD labels, home movie labels, and more.
I will go through the steps for creating an Ubuntu MATE DVD label. (Here's a link to the DVD Cover.)
In the steps below, I will use Neato USCD2lbl.NTT CD/DVD LABELS (face only) template to match the Neato CD/DVD Economatte Labels from Amazon (Neato CD/DVD Economatte Labels – 50 Sheets – Makes 100 Labels) or the Neato Compatible Full Face CD / DVD Labels (200 Neato Compatible Full Face CD / DVD Labels). You will need a CD/DVD Label Applicator to align and appy the label to the CD or DVD (Merax B00NY4YA2I EZ LABEL: CD / DVD Label Applicator (40mm Hole, CD / DVD Applicator)) .
Create a CD/DVD Label
Open the gLabels application and then click on the Create a new file button on the toolbar or click the File menu and click the New option.

Create a CD/DVD Label
Open the gLabels application and then click on the Create a new file button on the toolbar or click the File menu and click the New option.
When the Select Product dialog box appears, change the Brand to Neato to shorten the list of label options and then scroll down and find Neato USCD2lbl.NTT CD/DVD LABELS (face only) and click it to select it.
Then click the Next button. You have a chance to look over your choices you have made up to this point in the Review Selection dialog box. You can use the Back button if you noticed that you've made a mistake.
Click the Apply button to start creating your CD/DVD label.
If you plan to use an image for your CD/DVD label click on the Create image object button on the toolbar. This button allows you to place an image on the CD/DVD or you can use it to place several smaller images on the disc.
Then click on an area to inset the image. After the image placeholder image box appears, click the folder icon under the Image tab on the right. Then look for the image you want to place on the disc.
Click on the name of the image you want to insert and press the Open button.
You can now drag the handle boxes to resize your image. I like to place the image in the center and then drag the corner handle boxes until the edge of the image touches the red outline circle of the template.
Once you have the image to the red line on the template, you are ready to preview your CD/DVD Label.
I highly recommend that you save this file if you plan to print this cover again in the future. Click the Save current file icon on the toolbar.
Give your file a name when the Save "Untitled 1" as dialog box appears and click the Save button.
You can preview the CD/DVD Label before you print it. To preview the disc label, click the File menu, then click on the Print... option.
When the Print dialog box appears, click on the Labels tab at the top.
If you only want to print one label, click on the Labels option under Copies and choose from: 1 to: 1. Then click on the checkbox next to print outlines (to test printer alignment) under the Options section. Then click on the Preview button.
A preview will appear to allow you to see what your label will look like on your disc.
When you are finally satisfied with the look of your CD/DVD Label, you are ready to print it. Insert the Neato CD/DVD Economatte Labels or Neato Compatible Full Face CD/DVD Labels stickers in your printer and then click the Print the current file button on the toolbar or you can click the File menu, then click the Print... option.
When the Print dialog box appears, click the Print button.
