You'll see the installation files for the three different operating systems on the Download website.
Linux users need to click the drop-down arrow on the blue Download button to display the installation files for a variety of Linux distributions and platforms. Since I use Ubuntu MATE 20.04.3 LTS 64-bit system, I clicked on the 64-bit Deb option. It immediately started downloading to my Downloads folder.
I then located the file SpeedCrunch-0.12-linux64.deb in my Downloads folder.
I then double-clicked the .deb file and it opened in my default Package Installer. (I use GDebi Package Installer. To install GDebi open your Terminal and enter: sudo apt install gdebi) Then click the Install Package button.
Type in your Password and then click the Authenticate button.
Wait until your see, "Status: Same version is already installed" before you close the Package Installer.
If you prefer to install it via the Terminal then enter the following:
sudo apt-get install speedcrunch
This will probably install an older version since it comes from the Ubuntu repositories.

The first time you open SpeedCrunch it will look very basic. It will look similar to the Terminal; however, you can customize it.
You can type in your problem at the bottom at the insertion point.
You can click on the View menu and select Status Bar (or press the shortcut keys Ctrl+B) to place the Status Bar across the bottom.
You can click on the View menu and select Keypad (or press the shortcut keys Ctrl+K) to place a Keypad within the calculator. This will allow you to use your mouse to enter in data.
In SpeedCrunch you have to type the word percent instead of using the % symbol, so 9*7.5% would be entered as 9*7.5percent.
You can change the color of SpeedCrunch by clicking on the Settings menu, select Display, Color Scheme, and then select one of the color scheme's.
This is an example of the Tomorrow Night Eighties color scheme.

With SpeedCrunch you will be able to do trigonometric sums quickly and can even do complex calculations in a few seconds. This calculator provides a simple interface where you can perform different mathematics operations like subtraction, addition, trigonometric functions such as tangent, cosine, sine, and more.
SpeedCrunch provides you with a list of preset functions (such as Logical AND/OR/NOT/XOR, Exponential, fraction part, hex, int, log, mask, and much more) and variables like ans & pi.

SpeedCrunch provides you with variable storage. This means you can set x = 6 and y = 8 and then solve equations such as z = 3*x+4*y^2-15. To delete the value of a stored valuable, click Edit -> Delete Variable and then select the variable from the list. Along with these variables, SpeedCrunch also remembers every expression you ever enter, and you can browse through the history of expressions by using the up and down arrow keys. SpeedCrunch remembers expression history across sessions, but you can click Edit -> Clear History to remove all your math problems.

SpeedCrunch and Qalculate! are tools that offer quick solutions to difficult math questions. If you have to multiply two binomials together in your Algebra class, then I recommend you to use Qalculate! However, if you are looking for a good scientific calculator, then I highly recommend that you give SpeedCrunch a try.
