PhotoFlare
PhotoFlare is a very simple but powerful Cross Platform image editor. It has a very user friendly Grapical User Interface (GUI). It's an excellent choice for beginners, but it's also suitable for more advanced users. PhotoFlare makes it easy for you to add that special touch to your photos or images.
When I used MS Windows as my primary operating system, I used a basic photo editing software called iPhoto Plus 4. It was my go-to basic photo or image editor. PhotoFlare has a lot of the same features that I used in iPhoto Plus 4, so I feel very comfortable using this program.

PhotoFlare has many editing tools that allows you to change brightness, contrast, and color of your image. It allows you to restore images that have some major issues.
The Artistic feature of Charcoal Drawing.
Convert color to Gray Scale.
Convert color to Old Photo.
Convert color to Sepia.

An example of using the Visual Effect - Motion blur filter.
These are just some of the examples of the filters you can use in PhotoFlare.
If you need to copy or clone an object in your photo then use the Clone Stamp tool located on the Toolpalette.

After I clicked on Clone Stamp tool icon, I placed my mouse pointer over the area that I wanted to clone and I pressed the Ctrl button & left mouse button at the same time and then released them. I then placed my mouse pointer over the new location and then I held down my left mouse button as I moved the pointer around to clone my object.
In the example below, I quickly cloned the bird on the left. The bird on the right is the result of using just the Clone Stamp tool. I could have zoomed in and used the Smudge tool, if I wanted to make the bird on the right look more realistic. The Smudge tool would allow me to get rid of the light halo around the bird's head.

As you can see from my examples above, this is a powerful little image or photo editor. Compared to some of the other photo editors, it's not as intimidated to use. I still use Gimp, Pinta, and other more advanced image and photo editors when I can't perform the task in PhotoFlare.
Remember, PhotoFlare is a Cross Platform image editor. If you stumbled across this webpage looking for an image editor, this still might be the program you're looking for. Go to the Downloads page from the creator's website and download the installer that matches your platform. http://photoflare.io/downloads/
I hope this has helped you if you were looking for a simple, but powerful image or photo editor.
Take care!
