Ksnip
Ksnip is a Qt-based cross-platform screenshot tool that provides many annotation features for your screenshots.

How to Install Ksnip:
There are a variety of ways to install Ksnip. You can install it via the Snap Store, Flathub, AppImage, and a variety of methods and for a variety of operating systems from their GitHub website. You can always find the newest release on their Releases section. At the time of creating this webpage, I downloaded and installed Ksnip from the ksnip-1.10.0.deb file.

Locate the installation file once it's downloaded to your system.
Double-click the file to open it in your Package Installer. Click the Install Package button to start the installation process.
Enter your Password and click the Authenticate button.
Wait until your see the Status: Same version is already installed before you close the Package Installer.
--- You can remove Ksnip by enter the following in your Terminal: sudo apt remove ksnip ---
You should now find Ksnip in your menu.
An icon for the application will be placed in your system tray or panel until you Quit the program. You have several types of screenshots you can take using your mouse within the drop-down menu.
I clicked on the option Current Screen to take an entire screenshot of my active Window.
You have a variety of annotation tools that you can use for your specific personal and business needs.
Below is the list of tools you'll find in the toolbar on the left side of the program.
You can hover your mouse pointer over a button to display a tooltip.
You can take a quick look through the Settings menu from the short slideshow below.
Images will have their own tab allowing you to move from one image to another by clicking on a tab.
Ksnip Supports Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
Ksnip supports OCR by using the ksnip-plugin-ocr which utilizes Tesseract to convert Image to text. When the OCR plugin is loaded, the OCR option becomes available under Options > OCR. The latest plugin version can be found here. Select the plugin for your platform. Currently, OCR only works for MS Windows and Linux.

I downloaded and installed the .deb package for my system. I recommend that you close Ksnip while you install the plugin.
Open Ksnip and click on the Option command. If OCR is grayed out, click on the Settings option.
If there's no plugin listed within the Plugins section, then click the Detect button. Click the OK button and close and reopen the program. It should no be an option within the Options menu.
To test out the plugin, take a screenshot of some text.
Click on the Options menu and select OCR. It will take a few seconds to process the information and then it will display the text within the image.
You can now easily copy and paste the text from the image and use it in a variety of ways.
Ksnip also works great on a MS Windows system. Below is an image from a Windows 10 PC.
