If you're an Ubuntu MATE user the icon will be placed within an Other category instead of the Sound & Video. You can use the Main Menu feature within the Control Center to drag the Museeks icon from Other to Sound & Video. (If you don't see an icon, then reboot your system.)
When you open the program for the first time you will notice the message: "Too bad, there is no music in your library =("
You can click the "add your music here" link or click the gear icon in the lower left corner to allow you to add music.
Your song or songs will load into the player. You will notice a progress bar at the top in the center along with the song being played. You will see a small cover art image, repeat song button, mix songs button to the left of the progress bar and a music queue icon to the right. In the upper left you'll see a back, play/pause, next, and speaker (volume).
When you hover your mouse pointer around the speaker icon you'll see a slider to allow you to adjust your volume.
The gear icon on the bottom left is the Settings button. When you go into your Settings and click on the Audio tab on the left, you can adjust your audio playback speed or Playback rate. The default is set to 1 which is normal speed. Changing the number to 2 will make your song or audio file play 2x or two times the normal speed. It also allows you to change the Audio output.
If you click on the Interface tab you'll be able to enable the Dark Theme, Display Notifications, prevent the computer for going to sleep by enabling the Sleep mode blocker, prevent the program from closing when clicking the "close" button by enabling the Minimize to tray on close, and Auto update checker.
You can check for updates by clicking on the About tab and then click on Check for update.
The Dark Mode looks very nice.
You can right-click on a song in your playlist to provide you with some additional features. You can add the selected song to the queue, play the selected song next, you can add your selected song to a playlist or you can create a new playlist, you can search for more song by the artist, and search for a document. You can also bring up your file manager to display the select song or you can remove the selected song from your current playlist.
This may not contain a lot of adnce features you find n other music players, but it does a great job playing music that's on your system.
This application is built with Electron, so it may not be popular with a lot of people. However, it is open source and it is a cross-platform application that looks and works great.
