Below is an example of using Eye of Gnome to look at some photos in my Wallpapers folder on my computer.
Clicking on the three horizontal lines or Menu icon or button(a.k.a. hamburger menu icon or button) will create a drop-down menu.
The images in the slideshow below illustrates the options or features found within the Preferences dialog box.
In the upper left corner of the toolbar is a minus (- Zoom Out ) that will Shrink the image, the percentage of the size of the image being displayed, a drop-down menu with multiple percentage options, and a plus (+Zoom In) that will Enlarge the image. Then on the right side of the toolbar is the fullscreen mode button, Menu button, Minimize button, Maximize button, and the Close button.
If you click the fullscreen mode button, your entire image will fill your screen. You can press the Escape (esc) button to leave fullscreen mode or you can hover your mouse pointer at the top to display a toolbar. In the upper right corner is a Leave Fullscreen button and clicking it will exit fullscreen mode.
Right-clicking on an image will bring up a dialog box displaying eight or nine different commands or options. You can get additional information about the current image by clicking on the Properties option.
An Image Properties dialog box will appear allowing you to navigate through three tabs: General, Metadata, and Details.
Eye of Gnome is not an image viewer that is packed with a lot of editing tools; however, it is a pretty decent image viewer that provides the basic effects for improved viewing, such as zooming, full-screen, rotation, and transparent image background control.
