ClamTk Caja Add-on
If you recently installed Ubuntu or Ubuntu MATE 22.04 LTS or newer you've probably noticed that you no longer have access to right-clicking a file within the Caja file manager and select "Scan for threats..."
You can download the add-ons for XFCE, KDE, Nemo, and Gnome, but they currently don't have the add-on for MATE. I modified an old version of the clamtk-mate.py to work with the newest version of MATE and Ubuntu and Ubuntu MATE. First, make sure that you have the newest version of ClamTK installed on your system. It will work with ClamTK version 6.16 or newer. Check out the Downloads section on Bitbucket.

You don't need to create an account or sign in to download from Dropbox. Click the drop-down arrow in the upper right corner and then click on Direct download to download the compressed file.
Now go into your Downloads folder or the location your downloaded the file and then right-click the file and select Extract Here command to uncompress or extract the file. You should then see the clamtk-mate.py file in your Downloads folder.
Now open your Terminal and enter the following: cd Downloads
This will change the directory or active folder to the Downloads folder.

Next, enter the following in the Terminal: sudo cp clamtk-mate.py /usr/share/caja-python/extensions/
Enter your password after you press the Enter key.
This will copy the clamtk-mate.py in the caja-python/extensions folder.

This will copy the clamtk-mate.py in the caja-python/extensions folder.
If you navigate to that location you should see the clamtk-mate.py file. If you see the file, close the Caja file manager and reboot or restart your system.
After your system restarts open the Caja file manager and right-click on any file. You should now see Scan for threats... in the menu. Click on the command to see if it works.
In a few moments you'll notice the file or files or folder being scanned.
It will inform you if a virus or malware is found or it will display No threats found if your file or files is clean.
You now have another way to scan files and folders on your system to help you keep it clean from viruses and malware.
I hope this works for you too.
