Pinta 2.0.1
Pinta 2.0.1 is a simple GTK# paint program that is based on Paint.Net 3.0. Version 2 of Pinta was recently ported to GTK 3 and .NET 6.
You can download and install the newest version of Pinta from the Pinta Project website. Linux users can install it via Flatpak, Snap, Tarball, or Source Code. Windows, macOS, and OpenBSD users can install Pinta 2.0.1 on their systems too.
You can also install, launch, and remove Pinta 2.0.1 via the Software Center (a.k.a. Software).
You can read the Release Notes for Pinta 2.0.1 from the developer's website. If you need help learning how to use Pinta you can look at the Documentation online.
You will notice that each open image has a tab across the top. You can quickly change to a different image by clicking on the tab of the image.
Comparing Pinta 2.0.1 with earlier versions:
Pinta 2.0.1 works great with a system dark theme. It doesn't have the Images Window on the right and it has the Color Palette on the lower left side. It has a single column Tool Palette and a more a more modern look. Pinta 2.0.1 also has improved support for high-DPI displays.

Pinta 1.7 didn't play well with a dark theme. The Title bars within each section do not have the same appearance to the rest of the program using a dark theme.
Pinta 1.6 looks great with a dark theme. However, it doesn't have a tab for each opened image.
I recently upgraded from Pinta 1.6 to Pinta 2.0.1 and I like the new version. The only drawback I've noticed so far is the support for add-ins is missing. However, I think it will eventually be added in a future update.
"Pinta itself does not have a built in printing prompt, meaning that you cannot print directly from Pinta." I highly recommend Photoprint for all your printing needs.
I highly recommend anyone looking for a nice easy-to-use and easy-to learn image editor to install Pinta 2.0.1.
*** UPDATE: Pinta is now at version 2.1.1 ***
