Crackle
Crackle is an ad-supported streaming platform available in 21 countries and in three languages: English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Crackle is owned by Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment and they have changed the name from Sony Crackle back to Crackle.
Crackle features programming in the following genres: action, comedy, crime, drama, horror, and sci-fi. You will find a variety of movies and TV shows on the streaming platform. Crackle can be installed or connected devices including mobile, tablets, smart TVs, desktop, and gaming consoles. I will be demonstrating Crackle on a desktop system using Ubuntu MATE 20.04.2 LTS. I like added my online streaming services to my main menu. Browsers such as Firefox, Chromium, Chrome, and Vivaldi support Application Mode which allows me to add websites to my menus. Application Mode allows you to display websites directly without borders or address bar, etc. It makes it look similar to an installed app on your system.
You can add Crackle to your menu to make it look like an actual application installed. To add it to your menu you'll need to open your Control Center and click on Main Menu under the Look and Feel section.

A Main Menu dialog box should appear on your screen. Select a menu on the left. I created an Entertainment menu to keep my entertainment links and applications organized. After you select the menu click on the + New Item button on the right.
You will see a Create Launcher dialog box appear on your screen. I will create an icon for Crackle.
Enter the following information:
Enter the following information:
- Type: Application
- Name: Crackle
- Command: vivaldi --app=https://www.crackle.com/
- Comment: Crackle - Watch Movies & TV Shows
You can replace vivaldi with Firefox, Chrome, or Chromium because these browser support Application Mode. However, you must enter the browser command as you would as if you are starting it in your Terminal. You can use any icon your prefer or you can save the icon below and use it. Click the OK button when you finish entering the information. <You can also use Ice SSB (Site-Specific Browser) to integrate many of the modern web applications into your menus.>
You should now see Crackle in your folder.
First Time Run of Crackle
Clicking on the Crackle icon will open Crackle to its home screen. Since you are opening it up as a web app you will not see a URL bar. It will look similar to an app installed on your system. I highly recommend that you open the Vivaldi web browser in normal browser mode and create a free Crackle account and log in. That way, you'll be logged in when you click on the web app icon.

Your Watch Later section will probably be empty, but you can easily look through the Movies and TV sections and hover over over a movie or TV show and click on the Plus icon (+) to add it to your Watch Later section.
Movies
There's a lot of free selections within the Movies section. Click on Movies in the upper left corner to view the movies choices. There's not a lot of big hit movies, but you can find a lot of hidden gems and underrated movies on Crackle.

Black Water Abyss is a must see for any horror movie fan. Also, Black Christmas is another to add to your list.
