Dukto (Dukto R6) is an easy file transfer tool designed for LAN (Local Area Network) use. You can use it to transfer files from one PC to another, without worrying about users, permissions, operating systems, protocols, clients, servers and so on...
Dukto is easy to use. Simply start the app on both PCs and transfer files and folders by dragging them into its window. That’s it! Dukto has zero configuration as the clients are auto discoverable once Dukto is installed.

How to Install Dukto: (For Ubuntu and Debian users using third party PPA)
1. Open the Terminal (Shortcut: Ctrl + Alt + T)
2. Type the following command: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xuzhen666/dukto
3. Press Enter or Return and type in your password
4. Type the following command: sudo apt-get update
5. Type the following command: sudo apt install dukto
6. Type Y and press Enter or Return

2. Type the following command: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xuzhen666/dukto
3. Press Enter or Return and type in your password
4. Type the following command: sudo apt-get update
5. Type the following command: sudo apt install dukto
6. Type Y and press Enter or Return
Firewall Rules
Dukto uses TCP or UDP port 4644 for receiving a message. so, be aware to open 4644 to everybody on the LAN. If you use or have enabled UFW or uncomplicated firewall, then open your Terminal and enter the following: sudo ufw allow 4644
You will not be able to see any devices on the LAN unless they have port 4644 open. .

The first time your run the program you'll be greeted with a Disclaimer and you must click the Accept button to continue.
You should see all the devices running Dukto on your LAN.
Click on one of the users or buddies on your Lan to take you to the Send data to screen. In this screen you'll have the ability to send four things: Send some text, Send text from clipboard, Send some files, or Send a folder.
You have three tabs across the top: buddies, recent, and about.
You can click the Settings icon or gear icon to bring up the Settings screen. Here you can change the folder to save your received files or folder by clicking the Change folder button. You can change the custom color of Dukto. You can click the left arrow to go back to the Home screen. Clicking on the Received icon or folder icon in the lower left corner opens your Downloads folder or location of your files.
Clicking on the Addresses icon or center icon across the bottom will reveal your IP Address.
Clicking on the three horizontal dots across the bottom will display the button names across the bottom.
How to Uninstall Dukto:
1. Open the Terminal (Shortcut: Ctrl + Alt + T)
2. Type the following command: sudo apt remove --autoremove dukto
2. Type the following command: sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:xuzhen666/dukto

I like Dukto because it allows me to send and receive files to multiple platforms or operating systems that are on my network or LAN. It's great if you have an Android TV Box to send files to and from your computer to the Android device.
