Pithos
Pithos is an open source Pandora Radio client for Linux. It allows you to use your Pandora account to listen to streaming music without using a browser. Pandora is only available in the US, Australia, and New Zealand. Pithos is very light on resources and integrates with the Linux desktop features.
At the time that I created this webpage Pithos version was 1.4.1 and was available by using Flatpack. Follow the simple steps at Flatpack Quick Setup to start using Flatpak.
After you setup your computer to use Flatpack apps come back to this webpage and follow the instructions below to install the newest version of Pithos.
If you live outside the US, Australia, or New Zealand then you should have a look at Portaller DNS and proxy server. If you need help setting up DNS on your Linux machine then check out DNS on Ubuntu Andrew B. Collier

To start Pithos type flatpak run io.github.Pithos at the command prompt in the Terminal. You can also start Pithos by clicking on th Applications menu, then highlight Sound & Video, then click on Pithos.
The first time you run Pithos, the Preferences Dialog will open and allow you to enter your email and password for your Pandora account. You can also set the audio quality, proxies, or login with your Pandora One/Plus account and after you login enable or disable the Explicit Content Filter from this dialog. If you don't have a Pandora account you can click the "Create an account at pandora.com" link in the dialog to open pandora.com in your default browser and create an account. Then use your newly created account to login. Click the Apply button and wait for your stations to load in Pithos.
In the Preferences dialog box there is Plugins tab that allows you enable optional features not available in the official Pandora client.
I like the 10 Band Equalizer plugin that you can enable to make your music sound better. Using High audio quality with the right settings on the 10 band equalizer and a good sound card makes your computer sound as good or better than an expensive stereo system.
When your stations finally load in Pithos for the first time, it will start playing the songs based on the channels you setup in Pandora. The default setting is to play your songs in a randon order by selecting the QuickMix. This randomally selects songs from each of your Pandora channels.
You can click the drop down arrow next to QuickMix and select a particular channel or you can search for an artist or group. I very seldom use the QuickMix feature because listening to randon Christmas songs in July feels strange.
Changed from QuickMix to 80s Pop Radio.
Rate Songs:
You can rate songs in your playlist in the song's context menu. The rating system in Pithos work the same as they do in any other Pandora client.
