Search for a PPA
It also gives you the ability to search for a particular PPA, but you must know the exact name of the PPA. I have an older version of Blender on my system so I looked for a PPA that will allow me to upgrade to a newer version. I clicked the Search in all Launchpad PPAs button and searched for the word blender and then I clicked the OK button.

It will take a while, but eventually a dialog box will appear with the PPA you searched for and a list of PPAs found on Launchpad. You can see accross the top of the dialog box that I have version 2.79.b installed on my system and there's a newer version on Launchpad for Ubuntu Bionic. I clicked on version 2.90.1-release~98526-3e85bb34d0d-0thomas~bionic0 with the PPA of ppa:thomas-schiex/blender and clicked on the Add selected PPA button. Click the Close button when you finish.
I then ran the Software Updater and it found and upgraded my Blender version 2.79b to Blender version 2.90.1.

Clicking the Advanced button will allow you to do a variety of things to your PPAs. You can Scan and remove duplicate PPAs to help speed up updating your system.
If it finds any duplicate PPAs it will create a Duplicate PPA sources detected dialog box that will display the number of duplicate PPAs. You have the choices to Show duplicates and/or Remove duplicates.
You can also fix missing GPC keys and attempt to fix all GPG BADSIG errors. You can also Backup repositories and Restore repositories backup. You can click the Backup repositories option to allow you to make a backup of your repositories or PPAs on your system in case yours becomes corrupt or damaged.
I will create a Save the backup... dialog box to allow you to save a compressed list of your repositories. I clicked the New Folder icon and created a folder called Repositories-Backup to help keep my backups organized.
Then I saved the file into my newly created folder. I didn't modify or change the filename because it describes the file and has a date and time stamp.
Re-enable working PPAs after Ubuntu upgrade: When you upgrade to a new Ubuntu version, all the PPAs are disabled. This feature checks if the old PPAs have been updated to work with your current Ubuntu version and if they do work, it re-enables them. This only works for PPAs that have their own .list file.
Update release name in working PPAs: Using this feature, you can replace the Ubuntu version for all the PPAs on your computer with another Ubuntu version. Y PPA Manager automatically checks if the PPAs support the Ubuntu version you want to replace it with, so the PPAs that won't work with the new version are not updated. This only works for PPAs that have their own .list file.
