How to Pin a Program to the Panel
In Ubuntu MATE, the long dark gray bars across the top and bottom of the screen are referred to as Panels. The top Panel contains your menu(s), application launchers, notification area, and date & time. The bottom Panel contains the Taskbar and Workspace Switcher. The Panels can be independently configured to meet your needs or personal preferences.
In this section, I will explain how to pin a program to your top panel. In Windows, this is referred to as pinning a program to the taskbar. This allows you to run or execute a program by clicking on an icon. This is a very simple process.
