Pcal generates PostScript to produce landscape or portrait calendars for any month and year.
How to install pcal on Ubuntu/Debian
To install pcal on Ubuntu/Linux Mint/Debian, type in the Terminal:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install pcal
sudo apt update
sudo apt install pcal
How to Use Pcal to Generate a Calendar:
To generate a yearly calendar for the year of 2023 enter the following in the Terminal:
pcal -E -n /18 -b sat-sun > calendar-2023.ps 2023
You should notice a new file called calendar-2023.ps in your Home folder. Replace the 2023 to create a calendar for a different year.

How to Convert a PS File to a PDF File
You must first install install the ghostscript package on your system. To install ghostscript on your system, enter the following in the Terminal:
sudo apt install ghostscript
sudo apt install ghostscript
To convert the calendar-2023.ps to calendar-2023.pdf. enter the following in the Terminal:
ps2pdf calendar-2023.ps calendar-2023.pdf
You should notice a new file called calendar-2023.pdf in your Home folder.
You should now to able to open the pdf file with your favorite pdf viewer/editor/annotator.
There are loads of other options for pcal – one handy one is -w which switches to a year-per-page layout, handy for getting an overview of data availability across a whole year:
pcal -E -w -n /18 -b sat-sun > calendar-2023-02.ps 2023
pcal -E -w -n /18 -b sat-sun > calendar-2023-02.ps 2023
